A welterweight bout pitting Anthony Johnson against Yoshiyuki Yoshida is in the works for UFC 104 in October, MMAWeekly.com has learned from sources close to the fight.

Though not officially announced, UFC 104 will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Oct. 24. A light heavyweight match-up between Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and champion Lyoto Machida headlines.

Yoshida (11-3) bounced back from a devastating knockout at the hands of Josh Koscheck to submit Brandon Wolff by guillotine choke at UFC 98. The win was his second Octagon victory in three appearances since signing with the UFC as the first GCM welterweight tournament champion.

Johnson (7-2) recently returned to training after a knee injury took him from a scheduled bout with Matt Brown at the season nine finale of "The Ultimate Fighter." The 25-year-old native of Dublin, Ga., has been on a roll since losing to Rich Clementi at UFC 76 in September 2007, winning three out of four appearances in the Octagon by KO or TKO.
