SI.com's UFC 127 Predictions
MMA analysts Ben Fowlkes, Tim Marchman, Steven Marrocco, Jeff Wagenheim and Jon Wertheim, along with SI.com's readers, provide their predictions for UFC 127 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
B.J. Penn (16-7-1) vs. Jon Fitch (26-3-0)

Fowlkes
Fitch via decision. He's too big, too strong, and his greatest attributes match Penn's most glaring weaknesses almost too perfectly. Expect a slow grind.
Marchman
Fitch by decision. Given the skills these two bring, if these two were of equal size this would be a great, great fight. They aren't and it won't be.
Marrocco
Penn has the tools, but barring an early bonk to Fitch's head, they won't be enough to overcome his opponent's size, wrestling, and did I mention size? Fitch by decision.
Wagenheim
Fitch. Too big, too strong, too exciting. OK, not that last one.
Wertheim
Great fight. Which Penn shows up? The guy who lost to Frankie Edgar? Or the one who flattened Matt Hughes? I like Fitch in the (minor) upset, especially the longer it goes.
Readers
In an SI.com poll, 53 percent of our readers said Penn will beat Fitch.

Michael Bisping (21-3-0) vs. Jorge Rivera (18-7-0)

Fowlkes
Rivera via KO. Call me crazy, but I think he may have angered Bisping enough to make the Brit drift away from his own strengths.
Marchman
Bisping by decision. Bisping is likely too smart to let Rivera bait him into a slugfest, but if he isn't ...
Marrocco
My thought is Rivera would like to make this a brawl and take the fight to the mat, but I doubt Bisping will let him, and in open range, he's at a big disadvantage. Bisping by TKO.
Wagenheim
Bisping. As consolation, Rivera gets an MTV Video Music Awards nomination.
Wertheim
Pick 'em. If Bisping catches Rivera, good night. If it goes to the ground, Old Man Rivera could inflict some damage. Good contrast in styles. I'll go with "youth" and take Bisping.
Readers
In an SI.com poll, 62 percent of our readers said Bisping will beat Rivera.

George Sotiropoulos (14-2-0) vs. Dennis Siver (17-7-0)

Fowlkes
Sotiropoulos via submission. He's bigger and more well-rounded, and eventually he'll break down Siver.
Marchman
Sotiropolous by decision. Sot should probably be fighting a more highly ranked opponent, but it will be interesting to see how he does against a heavy hitter.
Marrocco
Siver is a dynamic and kinetic striker, but he's no match for Sotiropoulos on the mat. And guess where the Aussie is going to take him? Sotiropoulos by submission.
Wagenheim
Sotiropoulos. The Aussie is a more gripping fighter with a more engrossing accent.
Wertheim
Sotiropolous is a rising star, undefeated in the UFC. Especially if this goes to the ground, he should pick up another win.
Readers
In an SI.com poll, 76 percent of our readers said Sotiropoulos will beat Siver.

Chris Lytle (40-17-4) vs. Brian Ebersole (46-14-1)

Fowlkes
Lytle via submission. Ebersole was tapped as a consolation opponent, and he simply doesn't have much with which to threaten Lytle.
Marchman
Lytle by knockout. It seems pretty likely that the "just bleed" crowd will dig this one.
Marrocco
Last-minute replacement Ebersole is a tough, unpredictable vet who's waited for this chance. But he's getting Lytle, and he's in way over his head. Lytle via submission.
Wertheim
Lytle, pride of Indiana, has become the Arturo Gatti of UFC. Great action fighter, a fight-of-the-night candidate every time out. A KO over a fill-in opponent.
Wagenheim
Lytle. He?s been in with higher-level fighters than Ebersole has seen Down Under.
Readers
In an SI.com poll, 74 percent of our readers said Lytle will beat Ebersole.

Kyle Noke (18-4-1) vs. Chris Camozzi (14-3-0)

Fowlkes
Noke via decision. Camozzi is a tough kid, but lacking some in skill. His style leaves him too vulnerable to being outpointed by a busier fighter.
Marchman
Noke by submission. Noke should have enough to make a partisan crowd happy here.
Marrocco
I see Camozzi eating a lot of punches from the bottom after Noke is attuned to the sharpness of his knees and feet. Noke by TKO.
Wagenheim
Noke. A tough call between two tough fighters. When in doubt, go with Greg Jackson's guy.
Wertheim
Match of two The Ultimate Fighter veterans. Noke, the Aussie, by decision.
Readers
In an SI.com poll, 51 percent of our readers said Camozzi will beat Noke.
