On Tuesday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that UFC 176 had been canceled. On Wednesday, a number of the bouts that were scheduled for the Aug. 3 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles began finding new homes.

The first fight that was moved was a middleweight bout between former Strikeforce champions Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza. The contest between Mousasi and Souza was scheduled to serve as the UFC 176 co-main event.

UFC president Dana White announced the bout will be moved to UFC Fight Night 50 on Sept. 5 in Ledyard, Connecticut.

Along with the co-main event, several additional bouts were bumped

A lightweight scrap between Danny Castillo and Tony Ferguson and middleweight bout between Lorenz Larkin and Derek Brunson were both moved to UFC 177 on Aug. 30 at Sleep Train Arena.

For Castillo, the UFC 177 booking means he will get to stay in Sacramento where he trains at Team Alpha Male, along with UFC bantamweight champion and UFC 177 headliner TJ Dillashaw, who will take on former champion Renan Barao at the event.

Also, bouts between Beniel Dariush and Tony Martin as well as Walmir Lazaro and James Vick were pushed to UFC Fight Night 49 in Tulsa, Okla. on Aug. 23.
