For the inaugural card in Cleveland, the UFC is putting on a stacked show at Quicken Loans Arena. UFC 203 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion and Cleveland native Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem.
In the co-main event, former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum fights Travis Browne in a rematch. If Werdum wins, he could argue for a rematch against Miocic and another shot at the belt he lost.
Former WWE superstar CM Punk makes his debut against the young and talented Mickey Gall in the welterweight division. Uriah Faber, looking to bounce back from a loss to bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 199, will faace off against Jimmie Rivera.
In the featured slot of the Fox Sports prelims, Cleveland’s own Jessica Eye fights former title challenger Bethe Correia. Eye has been on a tough string of three losses dating back to a July 2015 fight against Miesha Tate, in which the winner was promised a title shot at Ronda Rousey that didn’t come to fruition and was eventually awarded to Holly Holm.
Eye has cited personal issues as a source of her slip and said that she has rectified them.
