Conor McGregor and Tyron Woodley have intense stare down at UFC 205 weigh-in

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has intense confrontation at UFC 205 weigh-ins with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

The biggest fight card of the year is almost here: UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden. Coverage begins Saturday on FS1—or streamed live via the Fox Sports Go app—with the Prefight Show at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the preliminary bouts at 8 p.m.

The UFC has an early weigh-in process that allows fighters to step on the scale within a two-hour window in the morning the day before fights. This also creates a situation void of any order preventing confrontations between fighters.

UFC 205 weigh-in results: Missed weight causes drama, pulls fight from card

During the UFC 205 weigh-ins, featherweight champion Conor McGregor and welterweight champion Tyron Woodley weighed in close to one another. After stepping off the scale, fighters move to a rehydration area with beverages and fruit before being checked out by doctors. On Friday morning, this led to a tense confrontation caught on camera by MMA Fighting between McGregor and Woodley.

The two exchanged words briefly on Thursday at the UFC 205 press conference. McGregor is currently pursuing a title belt in a second weight class in his lightweight title fight against Eddie Alvarez on Saturday. McGregor made it clear he was interested in pursuing other weight classes, including Woodley's 170-pound title. Both of McGregor's fights against Nate Diaz came at 170 pounds.

Woodley warned McGregor that welterweights hit at a different level and advised him against moving up. But this confrontation could be just the beginning of a potential superfight between McGregor and Woodley.
