As the presidential campaign heated up, both candidates and their running mates tried to capture the vote of the sports fans. Here are some of the top sports-related moments of the campaign:

October 30"I am thrilled to be here in the home state of the world-champion Philadelphia Phillies."-Sarah Palin, Erie, Pa. Philadelphia is a seven-hour drive from Erie. The crowd -- split even between Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians fans -- booed the vice-presidential nominee for her Phillies endorsement.
