Red Wings' Datsyuk out for Game 3

Although Pavel Datsyuk officially is being called a game-time decision, the Red Wings' star center will miss Game 3 of the Western Conference Final on Friday night.

Datsyuk, who did not skate on Friday morning, was struck on the foot by a shot during Game 2, a 3-2 overtime win that gave Detroit a two-games-to-none lead in the series.

Valtteri Filppula is expected to slide into Datsyuk's slot, centering Marian Hossa and Tomas Holmstrom. Darren Helm will likely move up between Mikael Samuelsson and Jiri Hudler. Ville Leino, who will take Datsyuk's place in the lineup, will play on the fourth line with Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby, who returns after being a healthy scratch.

Detroit defenseman Chris Chelios reiterated that he has no problems with coach Mike Babcock, who was labeled not merely anti-Chelios but anti-American by the Sharks' Jeremy Roenick in a Chicago radio interview.

"What would the NHL be without J.R.?," a smiling Chelios said after the morning skate when asked about his friend Roenick, a former Blackhawks and Team USA teammate.

On the way to a changing room, Draper called out, "Hey, Cheli, sing 'O Canada!'"
