If Tennessee's series with North Carolina continues to be this entertaining, women's basketball fans just might forget about that other Tennessee matchup they'll no longer see. North Carolina came awfully close to pulling off a big upset Sunday, but an experienced Lady Vols team found a way to win.

The 83-79 victory over the Tar Heels was Tennessee's 12th straight, dating back to last season's conference tournament. And this Tennessee team may be even better than the one that took the title. The Lady Vols are balanced on offense and aggressive on defense, a combination that will keep them playing well into the postseason.

Although Sunday's close call at home could prompt arguments to drop the Lady Vols, that balance will keep them at the top of our weekly power rankings.

Another perennial power hasn't had such luck. Duke is on the brink of falling out of our top 16 for the first time after losing three straight.
