Deron Williams is going back to the Nets.

The unrestricted free agent point guard announced his decision to return to the Nets by way of his Twitter account on Tuesday evening, selecting Brooklyn over Dallas and setting the stage quite nicely for the franchise's first season outside of New Jersey. His deal, which can not be signed until July 11, will be a five-year maximum contract deal worth $98.7 million.

While there were strong indications in recent weeks that Williams wasn't prepared to sign with his hometown Mavericks, Nets officials were still on edge Tuesday as they awaited his decision. Making matters worse, Wiliams spent the morning working out at the team's facility but had not informed the team of his decision until around the time when he announced it for all to see on the Internet.
