The Tar Heels were the runners-up in the sweepstakes for USC transfer Emmanuel Moody -- which means little, other than that when Moody becomes the starting tailback at Florida in a year, and forms a devastating 1-2 running duo with QB Tim Tebow, UNC fans can lament how much the ex-Trojan would have expedited Butch Davis' rebuilding effort. Of Florida, Moody told Scout.com, "I just kind of knew that it was the place for me. It was one of those situations when people say you just know, kind of like when you meet your wife. When you meet your wife you just know she's the one."

The next stud running back from the pipeline that produced Michael Turner and Garrett Wolfe is ... well, there may not be another star waiting in the wings for NIU, but junior Montell Clanton is taking over the workhorse-runner gig. He ran 12 times for 102 yards as a sophomore and is coming off of a knee injury. "Do we have another Wolfe or Turner?" asked head coach Joe Novak (in the Daily Southtown). "We didn't know we had a Garrett Wolfe until he started playing. In our offense, you'd better have some yardage."
