In case you missed it, the Texas Longhorns downed Oklahoma this past weekend to grab the No. 1 spot in the polls. Thanks to Uncoached, the Red River Rivalry provided quite the show. And the football was OK, too.

Football Gone Green

The environmentally friendly Colorado Buffaloes we be implementing compost and recycling areas at football games. As the Environmental News Service reports, Colorado is "first major collegiate or professional sports program in the nation to tackle a zero-waste challenge." Huh. So now, will there be tons of "green" beer cans after the games?

Tainted Love

We now know where NOT to find future spouses at Virginia Tech.

Bowden Goes Bye, Bye

All this talk about Tommy Bowden getting canned is disheartening, and Clemson players have really taken the news hard. Senior quarterback Cullen Harper choked up the words: "It's what he deserved," while center Thomas Austin spit this out in between tears: "I think that this could hopefully unify our team in the long run." And, it wasn't just his players who seemed like lost puppies. Bowden's father and FSU coach, Bobby, capped his son's Clemson career by saying: "At least I don't have to worry about him beating me again." Sad day in college football, that's for sure.

Movin' Up In Alabama

This just in: Alabama has jumped 32 spots this year to No. 49 on Trojan's Sexual Health Report Card, which is based on student opinion of the school's awareness and availability of inexpensive contraception. So how does one safe-sex advocate feel about this news? "If we're the 49th [most] sexually healthy campus, then the rest of the nation is screwed." Excellent choice of words.

Money-Making At The 'Y'

One BYU student found an easy way to earn money. (Get your head out of the gutter). Junior Kyle Gardner, a construction-management student who describes himself as just a happy-go-lucky guy, raked in $25,000 (as well as a five-year supply of oatmeal) on Regis and Kelly Live's Cash Dance Trivia. Though Gardner didn't win the grand prize, he professed his love for chocolate covered raisins and gummy worms -- "I like them and they calm your nerves" -- and dancing to Cascada's Everytime We Touch. That's special.

Rich Haters

Already? Thanks to the keen eye of TheWizOfOdds.com, there's already a site dedicated solely to the firing of Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez. The site, aptly named FireRRod.com, already has 10 reasons why the man should be ousted.
