Happy Monday. Jimmy took the day off to celebrate the Yankees' improbable victory over the Dodgers last night and asked me to fill in. The news of the weekend is not good for American soccer fans, who saw their team lose a heartbreaker to Ghana on Saturday. Not sure if I'm alone, but I felt some consolation on Sunday when England lost to Germany 4-1. That game, however, was not without controversy as the referees missed a goal by midfielder Frank Lampard that would've tied the game at 2-2. Instead, the score remained 2-1 and Germany got the next two goals to take the victory. It's not all bad for Lampard, who can cry in the arms of his lovely girlfriend, Christine Bleakley.
Duking It Out In The Dugout
While the most shocking fight of the weekend might have been MMA heavyweight star Fedor Emelianenko losing his first fight in 10 years after tapping out to Fabricio Werdum, the two most entertaining took place between teammates in the dugout. In Chicago, the always calm Carlos Zambrano pitched a fit and got into a tussle with Derek Lee, while in Tampa, Evan Longoria let B.J. Upton know he was less than pleased with his effort running to catch a fly ball.

Life's A Beach
Landon Donovan :: Peter Read Miller/SI
What a brutal weekend for Landon Donovan. Three days ago, the American soccer star was on top of the world after scoring the winning goal against Algeria and potentially reuniting with his almost ex-wife, Bianca Kajlich. But now he's going back to America after Saturday's loss to Ghana and that reunion with Kajlich may be on hold after revelations that a U.K. woman claims to be pregnant with Donovan's baby.

The Great SI Vault Twitter Avatar Contest
When I'm not filling in for Jimmy, I run the SI Vault, Sports Illustrated's complete online archive. I also run the SI Vault Twitter feed, where you can go for funny/embarrassing photos such as a young Manny Ramirez posing with Mr. Potato Head or Karl Malone donning a Mailman's outfit. However, I need a new avatar as I am currently using the one of the most disturbing images in sports history, Tony Conigliaro's black eye. I want to change it to someone with good facial hair, Afro or mullet. E-mail me (andy_gray@simail.com) your suggestions and I'll have a new one picked for this afternoon's Hot Clicks.
