Detroit pitcher Doug Fister limited the Yankees to one run over five innings last night, and was extra prepared for the team's Game 5 celebration with these nifty goggles. The Tigers win continued the sports renaissance taking place in the Motor City, with the Lions at 4-0 and Michigan football at 5-0. As for the Yankees, Alex Rodriguez was 2-for-18 in the series while Mark Teixeira chipped in a 3-for-18 effort. Put the blame on them. As for postgame analysis, who better to hear from than LeBron James?
Wax Or Not Wax?
Steelers safety Troy Polamalu recently visited Madame Tussauds in Hollywood and pretended to be a wax figure. Then he scared the bejesus out of people and hilarity ensued.
Bernard Berrian Needs New PR People
Message to Vikings receiver Bernard Berrian: When you tell Minnesota State Representative John Kriesel, a double-amputee veteran of the Iraq war, to "sit down and shut up" on Twitter, it's best not to have your PR people follow that up by threatening to sue a Marine Corps officer over some Photoshop work.

Fox Sports Detroit Girls
Michael, of East Lansing, Mich., says, "When the Detroit Tigers finish off the Yankees tonight, please feature the Fox Sports Detroit Girls in tomorrow's Hot Clicks. Go Tigers!" Couple of things here: One, I had no idea there was such a thing as "Fox Sports Detroit Girls." Here in New York, we have YES, SNY and MSG. I don't think any of those regional sports networks have "girls," so this is quite fascinating. Two, in the lead item above, I mentioned the roll Detroit sports was on. Clearly, the Fox Sports Detroit Girls need to be part of that equation.

The Hot Clicks Podcast
Redskins tight end (and now fullback) Chris Cooley caused a stir by saying the following about Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Dallas' loss Sunday to the Lions: "It's hilarious to watch him throw pick-sixes, too, back-to-back. I loved it." I spoke to Cooley on the latest edition of The Hot Clicks Podcast about whether he has any personal issues with Romo, if he dislikes the Cowboys more than the Eagles and Giants, his new role as a part-time fullback, fantasy football (he just picked up teammate Ryan Torain), other NFL topics and more. Sports Video Of The Day
Seattle sports television reporter Erin Hawksworth casually dropped an f-bomb during her report on the Seahawks. And she's totally unfazed by it. Well done. (Thanks to Brian, of Port Orchard, Wash., for the link.)

UPDATE, 11:08 am: I'm getting lots of tweets and e-mails saying the reporter said "I can," and not "f---ing." I think it can go either way, so make your own ruling.
