Meet Eric Torpy. When sentenced to 30 years in prison for armed robbery and two counts of shooting with intent to kill, the Oklahoma man asked the judge to give him three more years, so he could serve the same number of years as Larry Bird's jersey. (Thanks to Derek, of New Orleans, for the link.)
Dead RingerCardinals manager Tony La Russa left the team while he recovers from having shingles. Pitcher Kyle Lohse paid tribute to his skipper Thursday by bringing out the lineup card dressed as La Russa.
