Tebow to take over for Broncos?

A 27.1 passer rating isn't looking good on Kyle Orton's resume. At this point, it won't be easy for [Eric] Studesville to explain why he wouldn't want rookie quarterback and first-round draft pick Tim Tebow to join him in an end-of-season audition. Addressing the dilemma as if he has had the job for six years instead of six days, Studesville said immediately after the game, when emotions are raw, is no time to make such a decision. "We're going to look at everything," Studesville said. "I want to look at this and talk with the coaches and make sure what we're doing is best for us as a football team and where we're going." Brewers making play for Greinke

Could Zack Greinke be on the move from one small market to another? The Royals have been coy about their willingness to deal their ace, but interested parties will encourage them to listen. A source familiar with the Brewers' off-season maneuvering said they have been in contact with the Royals about Greinke, who has two years remaining before free agency. The Brewers supposedly are on Greinke's no-trade list, but that can be overcome. Whether the Brewers would be willing to part with the number of prospects the Royals would require to deal Greinke remains to be seen. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) Comment

Mo approached Red Sox about move

Et tu, Mariano? According to multiple major league sources, Mariano Rivera's representatives were the ones to initiate contact with the Red Sox in an attempt to get the team interested in the closer. While the Red Sox would ultimately make a two-year offer to Rivera, according to sources the team's expectation was that he would be returning to the Yankees. The 41-year-old ultimately re-signed with New York, securing a two-year, $30 million deal. (WEEI.com) Comment
