11Boise State Broncos
Last Week: 13
The Broncos passed their toughest remaining road test at San Jose State last week. It looks more and more like they'll be 11-0 when they host Fresno State, which has yet to win on the blue turf since Boise joined the WAC.
Last game: Beat San Jose State, 33-16.
Next game: Saturday at New Mexico State.
12TCU Horned Frogs
Last Week: 14
QB Andy Dalton and WR Jimmy Young went to town against hapless Wyoming, connecting on touchdown passes of 60, 55 and 39 yards, as well as a 65-yard bomb. Young finished with five catches for a school-record 226 yards.
Last game: Beat Wyoming, 54-7.
Next game: Saturday at UNLV.
13Ohio State Buckeyes
Last Week: 10
Why doesn't Ohio State run the option more with Terrelle Pryor and Beanie Wells? Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference against Penn State's speedy ends, but you would think they'd at least put the threat out there.
Last game: Lost to Penn State, 13-6.
Next game: Nov. 8 at Northwestern.
14Florida State Seminoles
Last Week: 19
Amazingly, WR Greg Carr had only 16 catches going into Saturday's Virginia Tech game. Despite being matched up against Hokies star Macho Harris, Carr made third-quarter catches of 48 and 39 yards to set up FSU touchdowns.
Last game: Beat Virginia Tech, 30-20.
Next game: Saturday at Georgia Tech.
15Missouri Tigers
Last Week: 20
Whatever hex (or good defenses) plagued Mizzou's offense the past two weeks, it returned to form against Colorado. Chase Daniel went 31-of-37 for five touchdowns and Jeremy Maclin caught 11 passes for 134 yards.
Last game: Beat Colorado, 58-0.
Next game: Saturday at Baylor.
16Tulsa Golden Hurricane
Last Week: 21
We should get a good point of comparison for Tulsa's prolific offense Saturday in the Gus Malzahn Bowl. The Hurricane will be going against an Arkansas defense that allowed 52 points to Texas, 49 to Alabama and 38 to Florida.
Last game: Beat UCF, 49-19.
Next game: Saturday at Arkansas.
17LSU Tigers
Last Week: 12
In light of QB Jarrett Lee's three INTs against Georgia, coach Les Miles said Sunday that he might consider pulling freshman Jordan Jefferson's redshirt. He ought to consider teaching his defensive backs how to cover receivers.
Last game: Lost to Georgia, 52-38.
Next game: Saturday vs. Tulane.
18Minnesota Golden Gophers
Last Week: 22
The Gophers' defense continues to improve under coordinator Ted Roof. After holding Purdue to six points and 226 total yards, Minnesota -- 109th nationally last year in scoring defense -- moved up to 20th (17.1 points per game allowed).
Last game: Beat Purdue, 17-6.
Next game: Saturday vs. Northwestern.
19Brigham Young Cougars
Last Week: 24
The Cougars are living dangerously these days. They needed a Max Hall touchdown pass and two-point conversion with 1:46 left and a last-second interception in the end zone to avoid defeat at home against UNLV.
Last game: Beat UNLV, 42-35.
Next game: Saturday at Colorado State.
20Ball State Cardinals
Last Week: 25
The Cardinals delivered another victory Saturday for a noteworthy spectator. Star receiver Dante Love, who suffered a devastating spinal cord injury last month, returned for the first time since his injury and watched from the coaches box.
Last game: Beat Eastern Michigan, 38-16.
Next game: Nov. 5 vs. Northern Illinois.
1 - 10 11 - 20 21 - 25
