NCAA Football Power Rankings
21Clemson Tigers
Last Week: 15
The BCS propaganda machine has spent much of the past few weeks acting like the furor over the two or three teams left out of an eight-team playoff would cause the economy to crash again. Since BCS officials are so worried about how two- and three-loss teams feel, how will they justify to Penn State fans the fact that their current system might very well allow four-loss Clemson to play in the Orange Bowl?
Last game: Lost to South Carolina, 34-17
Next game: Saturday vs. Georgia Tech in Tampa, Fla.
22Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes
Last Week: 24
The Hurricanes started the season with so much promise, fell off in the middle and finished strong. This record would only be disappointing to someone who doesn't remember August, when everyone thought Miami would start off 0-4 and coach Randy Shannon would get fired. Remember, the nucleus of this team is still a bunch of sophomores.
Last game: Beat South Florida, 31-10
Next game: Regular season complete
23Oklahoma St. Cowboys
Last Week: 14
The Cowboys held a BCS bowl game in their grasp, and they laid a goose egg against a 6-5 team. Remember that guy who wrote in September that Oklahoma State was an elite program? That guy was an idiot.
Last game: Lost to Oklahoma, 27-0
Next game: Regular season complete
24Texas Tech Red Raiders
Last Week: 25
The only thing more thrilling than watching Mike Leach's offense is watching Leach's offseason flirtations with other programs. The captain owes no booty in return for leaving, but he probably won't be as hot of a candidate coming off 8-4 as he was coming off 11-1.
Last game: Beat Baylor, 20-13
Next game: Regular season complete
25Brigham Young Cougars
Last Week: --
The past two years, the Cougars have had the rotten luck of playing very good football in the same conference as Utah and TCU. At some point in coach Bronco Mendenhall's tenure, it will be BYU's turn, but this was TCU's year.
Last game: Beat Utah, 26-23 (OT)
Next game: Regular season complete

Next five: West Virginia, Houston, Utah, Wisconsin, Central Michigan
