NCAA Football Power Rankings
21Missouri Tigers
Last Week: 21
The Tigers' Week 2 win over Bowling Green was as lackluster as the opening-day win over Illinois was impressive. Fortunately, Missouri has tune-ups against Furman and Nevada as well as an open date before it opens Big 12 play with a nasty three-game stretch against Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Texas.
Last game: Beat Bowling Green, 27-20
Next game: Saturday vs. Furman

22Miami Hurricanes
Last Week: 22
When Miami faces Georgia Tech on Thursday, the Hurricanes will have had two more days of preparation than they had for last year's game in Atlanta. Hopefully, Miami defensive coaches put those days to good use, because the Yellow Jackets rolled up 472 rushing yards against the Hurricanes last season.
Last game: Beat Florida State, 38-34
Next game: Thursday vs. Georgia Tech

23Utah Utes
Last Week: 20
Utah Utes (2-0)
If Utah beats Oregon in Eugene on Saturday, I might have to adjust these rankings to put the Utes ahead of Boise State. After all, we would be comparing apples and apples.
Last game: Beat San Jose State, 24-14
Next game: Saturday at Oregon

24Michigan Wolverines
Last Week: --
I'm not ready to mint the Wolverines as a top 20 team quite yet, but if they keep playing with the pluck they showed Saturday in a comeback win over Notre Dame, they could rise much, much higher.
Last game: Beat Notre Dame, 38-34
Next game: Saturday vs. Eastern Michigan

25Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Last Week: 18
Despite the loss to Michigan, the season isn't over for the Fighting Irish. Nor is it time to start passing the hat to buy out coach Charlie Weis' contract. But if Notre Dame loses at home to a Michigan State team that just fell to Central Michigan, someone will need to find a really big hat.
Last game: Lost to Michigan, 38-34
Next game: Saturday vs. Michigan State

Next five: Oregon State, Georgia, North Carolina, Kansas, West Virginia

Andy Staples' Power Rankings also serve as his ballot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
