NCAA Football Power Rankings
21Kansas Jayhawks
Last Week: 21
For two consecutive games, the Jayhawks have looked shaky against inferior opponents. Fortunately, they get another inferior opponent this week in Colorado. Following the trip to Boulder are games against Oklahoma and Texas Tech, so Kansas would be wise to work out any last kinks Saturday.
Last game: Beat Iowa State, 41-36
Next game: Saturday vs. Colorado
22Missouri Tigers
Last Week: 20
The Tigers will have had nine days to lick the wounds from their collapse against Nebraska. They can erase that pain by spoiling Oklahoma State's homecoming.
Last game: Lost to Nebraska, 27-12
Next game: Saturday at Oklahoma State
23Oklahoma Sooners
Last Week: 25
Quarterback Sam Bradford is back, and he got a warmup against Baylor so he can be ready for a season-making game against Texas in Dallas. If the Sooners do beat the Longhorns, the Big 12 could be looking at a worst-case scenario for its national-title hopes: a two-loss Oklahoma that goes undefeated in conference play.
Last game: Beat Baylor, 33-7
Next game: Saturday vs. Texas in Dallas
24Wisconsin Badgers
Last Week: 19
The Badgers might have upset Ohio State if not for two interception returns for touchdowns and a kickoff return for a score. If quarterback Scott Tolzien can throw to the guys in red this week, the Badgers have a chance to pull off an upset.
Last game: Lost to Ohio State, 31-13
Next game: Saturday vs. Iowa
25Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Last Week: --
I know I said the Fighting Irish probably wouldn't crack the poll again unless they beat USC, but an analysis of all the teams in the 25-35 region didn't reveal anyone more deserving than Notre Dame. We know the Irish can score. On Saturday, it's time Notre Dame proves it can play defense. Then coach Charlie Weis will get his wish for a higher ranking.
Last game: Beat Washington, 37-30 (OT)
Next game: Saturday vs. USC

Next five: South Carolina, Arkansas, Auburn, West Virginia, Stanford

Andy Staples' Power Rankings also serve as his ballot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
