21Brigham Young Cougars
Last Week: 16
The Las Vegas Bowl insists it hasn't officially decided to invite BYU for a fourth-straight season, but Cougars fans' penchant for filling up Boyd Stadium may trump the fact they lost to and finished behind TCU in the standings.
Last game: Lost to Utah, 48-24.
Next game: Bowl game TBD.
22Oregon Ducks
Last Week: --
The last time a Rose Bowl berth was on the line in the Civil War in 2000, the Ducks fell 23-13, sending Washington to Pasadena and Oregon State to the Fiesta Bowl. Think Oregon wouldn't get a thrill out of being the spoiler this time?
Last game: Beat Arizona, 55-45.
Next game: Saturday at Oregon State.
23West Virginia Mountaineers
Last Week: --
The Mountaineers' last two opponents happen to be their two most recent tormentors, Pittsburgh and USF. With a return to the BCS unlikely, earning revenge against the Panthers is their biggest remaining goal.
Last game: Beat Louisville, 35-21.
Next game: Friday at Pittsburgh.
24Ole Miss Rebels
Last Week: --
First Florida, now LSU. Houston Nutt's Rebels whipped the Tigers in every aspect Saturday. QB Jevan Snead was sensational (16-of-24, 274 yards, two TDs), while Ole Miss' defense held LSU to one touchdown and 215 yards.
Last game: Beat LSU, 31-13.
Next game: Friday vs. Mississippi State.
25Michigan State Spartans
Last Week: 21
The Spartans made significant strides in 2008, finishing third in the Big Ten for the first time since 1999. They've still got a ways to go, however, to get to the top. Ohio State and Penn State beat them by a combined score of 94-25.
Last game: Lost to Penn State, 49-18.
Next game: Bowl game TBD.

Dropped out: LSU, Maryland, North Carolina, Pittsburgh.
