21Ole Miss Rebels
Last Week: 24
Jevan Snead finished the regular season as one of the nation's hottest quarterbacks. In lopsided wins over LSU and Mississippi State, the third-year sophomore completed 30-of-44 passes for 487 yards, six TDs and one INT.
Last game: Beat Mississippi State, 45-0.
Next game: Bowl game TBA.
22Oregon State Beavers
Last Week: 16
Two months of momentum went up in smoke last week for the Beavers, first losing RB Jacquizz Rodgers, then seeing their Rose Bowl hopes dashed, then losing WR James Rodgers for the bowl game with a broken collarbone.
Last game: Lost to Oregon, 65-38.
Next game: Bowl game TBA.
23Michigan State Spartans
Last Week: 25
Have you noticed that Mark Dantonio has a thing for rubbing it in Michigan's face? Asked if he was embarrassed by the Spartans' blowout at Penn State, the coach replied: "Embarrassing would have been 3-9 coming into this game."
Last game: Lost to Penn State, 49-18.
Next game: Bowl game TBA.
24Pittsburgh Panthers
Last Week: --
LeSean McCoy is really, really good. He ran for 183 yards and the game-winning touchdown Saturday against West Virginia. And he's now said twice that he will not be entering the NFL draft after the season.
Last game: Beat West Virginia, 19-15.
Next game: Saturday at Connecticut.
25Northwestern Wildcats
Last Week: --
Northwestern is lobbying hard for a New Year's Day bowl, hoping that large fan travel to previous bowls will trump its poor home attendance. More realistically, 8-4 Iowa (whom the Wildcats beat) will push them to the Alamo Bowl.
Last game: Beat Illinois, 27-10.
Next game: Bowl game TBA.

Dropped out: West Virginia, Florida State
