Olympic gold medal runner Mo Farah will not race at the upcoming IAAF Diamond League event due to illness, according to a statement from Farah via the BBC.

Farah was scheduled to compete for England at the event, which will be held on July 11 and 12 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Nike Oregon Project coach Alberto Salazar told The Oregonian's Ken Goe that Farah "was stricken with a digestive ailment last week while training at altitude" in Utah and had been hospitalized for tests, but that doctors did not find a serious problem.

Farah is still planning on competing at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which begin on July 23.
