A Michigan high school lacrosse team is under investigation for allegedly killing a guinea pig before a game, according to mlive.com

All team activities at Grosse Ile High School, which is located in a suburb of Detroit, have been suspended while police investigate the incident.

According to police, it is unclear when the alleged act of animal cruelty occurred. 

The superintendent of the school district, Joanne Lelekatch, said that an internal review of the incident will be delayed until the police have finished their investigation.
