HOUSTON (AP) -- Houston Rockets guard Bonzi Wells will sit out the rest of the season, and his future with the team is uncertain.

Wells was fined and placed on the inactive list after he didn't show up for Monday's game in Seattle, the team said. Rockets spokesman Bob Schranz said Wednesday that Wells would not be activated again this season.

The Rockets have four regular-season games remaining, starting with Wednesday's game in Portland, and have clinched a playoff berth.

Wells' agent, Bill Duffy, did not immediately return a phone message.

Wells did not join the team for its pregame walkthrough on Monday morning and wasn't in the arena before the game. He had played in the two previous games after being on the inactive list for more than a month.
