Rafer Alston and the New Jersey Nets have agreed to a contract buyout, league sources told SI.com

Alston, 33, a starter on Orlando's NBA Finals team last season, had fallen out of favor with the Nets. After starting 13 games in October and November, Alston has seen increasingly diminished playing time over the last month. He has been a healthy scratch in four of the last five games, with his only playing time coming during a 12-minute stint in a Dec. 28 home loss to Oklahoma City.

An NBA source said Cleveland, Miami and Utah are possibilities for Alston.
