The Chicago Bulls are working to finish a deal with free-agent power forward Pau Gasol, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Earlier Friday, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne that along with Chicago, the Spurs had also emerged as frontrunners to sign Gasol.
The 34-year-old Gasol has played with the Lakers the last 6 1/2 seasons after 6 1/2 seasons with the Grizzlies. He is a four-time All-Star with career averages of 18.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. The third overall pick in 2001 also won NBA titles with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
