Report: Rockets won't match Mavs' offer to Chandler Parsons
The Rockets decided not to match the Mavericks' three-year, $46.1 million offer sheet to swingman Chandler Parsons on Sunday, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
"I really appreciate the opportunity Houston gave me and I had three great years there," Parsons told ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman, "but I am really excited for the next chapter of my career in Dallas — to play with one of the greatest players in Dirk [Nowitzki] and a terrific owner in Mark Cuban."
The Rockets could have kept Parsons on the final year of his rookie contract for $964,000 but chose not to pick up the option to maintain the right to match any offer sheet he received, Feigen reports.

Houston choosing not to re-sign Parsons frees up space to sign max free agents next summer, according to Feigen.
The 25-year-old Parsons played three seasons for Houston, averaging 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game over that span. Last season, he averaged 16.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
