Carlos Delfino will not participate with the Argentine national team in the FIBA Basketball World Cup as he continues to recover from December foot surgery, he announced on his personal website Friday.

Delfino, 31, suffered the injury while a member of the Houston Rockets during the 2013 playoffs. He missed all of last season after unsuccessful shock therapy in September.

Delfino, who last summer signed a three-year contract with Milwaukee, averaged 10.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 37.5 percent three-point shooting in 2012-13.

The Basketball World Cup is being held in Spain and will run from Aug. 30 to Sept. 14.
