Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah is holding a press conference Friday to address ways to combat Chicago's gun violence, according to the Associated Press.

Noah will be speaking on behalf of his Noah's Arc Foundation, which he founded in 2010 with his mother, Cecilia Rodhe, to help young people.

According to a press release, Noah will speak about working with community organizations to come up with new methods to curb Chicago's violence problems.

The city of Chicago has been besieged by shootings, especially this month. Over the Fourth of July weekend, 17 people were killed and 53 people were shot. Last weekend, at least 40 people were shot and four killed.

Noah, 29, has spent all seven of his NBA seasons with the Bulls. Last season, he was named the league's defensive player of the year and First Team All-NBA.
