Cavaliers to face new coach David Blatt's former team in preseason
The Cavaliers will face Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv -- new Cavs coach David Blatt's former team -- in Cleveland's Oct. 5 preseason opener at Quicken Loans Arena.
Blatt, who was hired in June to replace Mike Brown, coached Maccabi for four seasons, winning the Euroleague championship in May.
The Cavaliers will also face the Miami Heat -- the former team of star forward LeBron James, who signed with Cleveland this summer -- on Oct. 11 in Brazil.
