Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall doesn't believe he was given a fair shot at making the Team USA roster that will play this summer in the FIBA World Cup, according to a report on Sunday from Ben Standig of CSN Washington.

The 2010 No. 1 overall pick was cut last week along with Wizards teammate Bradley Beal and Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap. Wall, who turns 24 next month, said he's been in the mix for years now and suggested that Team USA executives already had a good idea of who they wanted for the team heading into the Las Vegas minicamp.

More from Standig:

"Asked if he was given a fair shot to make the final 12-player roster, Wall said, “Nah, I don’t think so, but it’s a part of the game. I’m just happy to have the opportunity to be there and represent my country. I wish them the best of luck and hope they can win gold.” “I’ve been (around) for four years in a row. I think that’s enough time. Everybody had the same fair amount of time as far as being (in Las Vegas) and playing. I think [Team USA] already had kind of in their mind what they wanted to do and what decisions they were going (to make)."

The Final 12-man roster has yet to be announced, but the guard position for which Wall was being considered is currently comprised of Derrick Rose, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard

Wall, the league leader in total assists last season in the NBA, averaged 19.3 points on 43 percent shooting, 8.8 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 36 minutes per game for the Wizards, appearing in every game for Washington.
