Miami Heat sign Shannon Brown

Free agent guard Shannon Brown has signed with the Miami Heat, his agency Priority Sports announced Wednesday.

Free agent guard Shannon Brown has signed with the Miami Heat, his agency Priority Sports announced Wednesday.

Brown will join a Heat backcourt that also includes Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, Dwyane Wade, Reggie Williams and rookie Shabazz Napier.

Last season with the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks, Brown averaged 8.7 minutes and 2.2 points per game, both career lows. Brown did average double-digit points in each of the two prior seasons with the Phoenix Suns.

 There will be plenty of new faces on the Heat roster next season. Brown joins LuolDeng, Josh McRoberts, Danny Granger, Shawne Williams and Reggie Williams as new additions to the team.
