USA Basketball has started the FIBA World Cup with wins over Finland and Turkey. The United States, the No. 1 ranked team in the world, will continue its efforts to advance out of Group C with a matchup Tuesday against New Zealand. The USA squad includes Kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Derrick Rose and others.

New Zealand comes into the World Cup as the No. 19 ranked team in the world by FIBA. The New Zealand squad is one of the few in the tournament without a single player currently tied to an NBA franchise.

The lone prior meeting between these two countries came during the 2002 World Championships, which was a Team USA victory.
