Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is going to ask fans whether he should bring back his pregame chalk toss ritual this season, according to ESPN

James stopped doing the chalk-throwing in 2011 while with the Miami Heat, but hinted on Instagram in August that he will bring it back this season.

"I may," James said, when asked on Friday. "I'm going to let the fans decide and see what they think. If they want me to, I will do it."

James said he will ask fans for their opinion via social media, something he also did in July when he asked fans on Instagram whether this upcoming season he should wear No. 6, the number he wore with the Heat, or No. 23, the number he wore during his first stint with the Cavaliers. Days later, he announced he would wear No. 23

A banner that is set to go up in downtown Cleveland features James doing the chalk toss with the name of the city on the back of his jersey.
