Mallory Edens calls out writer who called her a future trophy girlfriend
Mallory Edens, the daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wesley Edens, called out NBA writer Chris Sheridan for a column Sheridan wrote that said she "will one day be somebody’s trophy [girlfriend]."
Sheridan's column for his website following Tuesday night's NBA draft lottery began by calling the wife of Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, Becky Taylor, a "trophy wife." The column also referenced "trophy daughters" and brought up Edens, who was the Bucks' onstage representative at the 2014 NBA draft lottery.
"Taylor has his trophy wife. Edens will one day be somebody’s trophy GF," wrote Sheridan.
On Wednesday, Edens responded to Sheridan on Twitter, writing to him, "so just for clarity, common thread that underwrites 'trophy' wife, daughter, and 'GF' is women = possessions, right?"
An hour later, Sheridan tweeted an apology.
Sheridan later tweeted that the column had been taken down, but as of 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday it still appeared to be on his site.
