Mike D’Antoni met with the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday to discuss their head coaching vacancy, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Wojnarowski reports that D'Antoni interviewed with Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly.

Denver fired head coach Brian Shaw in March. Melvin Hunt took over in the interim and is “a strong contender to retain the full-time job,” according to Wojnarowski.

D'Antonio last coached in the NBA during the 2013–14 season, resigning as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in April 2014. He was the interim coach of the Nuggets for 50 games during the 1998–99 season and has also been head coach of the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks

The 64-year-old holds a career 455–426 coaching record. The Lakers went 27–55 in his last season in the NBA.

Wojnarowski reports that former Sacramento Kings coach Michael Malone could also be given a sit-down interview with Connelly soon.

The Nuggets finished 30–52 this season.
