Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors have broken off contract talks for the moment, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.

The Warriors met with Green at the start of the NBA free-agency period on Wednesday before Green  talks with other teams. Green is a restricted free agent and Golden State can match any offer sheet that he signs.

The 25-year-old is coming off a season in which he averaged 11.2 points, 8.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 79 starts for the Warriors. In the playoffs, Green averaged 13.7 points, 10.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists as the Warriors won their first NBA championship since 1975.

Green's improvement in 2015 could earn him a maximum contract, which would be a big improvement from the $2.6 million earned through his first three seasons as a professional. Green was drafted in the second round of the 2012 NBA draft.

The Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets are among the teams reportedly interested in Green.
