The NBA preseason is in full swing as we inch closer to the start of the regular season on October 27th. With just over two weeks to go, teams are ramping up their preparations for the long haul ahead.

• Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters on Sunday that a spinal fluid leak is the reason for his leave of absence from the team.

• Houston Rockets star James Hardenleft Sunday’s preseason game against the Orlando Magic with a right knee contusion. He did not return.

• Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paulfractured his left index finger in practice Saturday, reports Rowan Kavner of NBA.com. The injury doesn't appear to be serious enough to keep Paul out for an extended period of time.

• Cleveland Cavs big man Kevin Love felt “really good” in his first 5-on-5 full-court, full-contract drills of the preseason in Saturday’s practice, reports ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Love dislocated his left shoulder in the Cavs’ first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics last season.

• Atlanta Hawks shooting guard Thabo Sefolosha is expected to play in Wednesday’s preseason game against the San Antonio Spurs after he was found not guilty of charges related to his April arrest, coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters.

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson fired back at Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers after he said the Warriors were lucky not have played the Clippers or Spurs during last postseason's championship run. Thompson told ESPN’s Ethan Sherwood Strauss that would have liked to face the Clippers, but “they couldn’t handle their business.”
