“It puts things into perspective,” Bryant said, reflecting on the situation for the first time publicly. “Sometimes basketball can get in the way of life and get in the way of living. He’s a brother above everything else and it’s important to see him get back on his feet.
“It’s amazing to see him doing well. It truly is remarkable.”
Odom’s condition has improved since Bryant first saw him; he is now able to speak and breathe on his own. He remains in treatment.
