Lamar Odom’s health has improved to the point where he is allowed to have visitors in the hospital, reports Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News.

Medina reportsLakers forward Metta World Peace, a longtime friend of Odom’s, planned to pay his former teammate a visit during the Lakers’ off day Wednesday.

Odom, 35, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles and in physical therapy for the past couple of weeks. He was rushed into emergency care in wake of a stay at a Nevada brothel that left him unconscious Oct. 13, and which included the use of cocaine and sexual performance enhancing drugs.

In the days that followed, Odom regained consciousness and his condition improved enough to relocate from Las Vegas to L.A.

World Peace, neé Ron Artest, is also 35, and has been friends with Odom since their youth, growing up in Queens, N.Y. They were teammates with the Lakers from 2009–2011, winning an NBA title in 2010 alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.
