A snowstorm is approaching the east coast this weekend, affecting several scheduled basketball and hockey games.

The NBA announced that two games scheduled for Saturday — Jazz-Wizards in Washington, D.C. and Celtics-Sixers in Philadelphia — have been postponed. Boston and Philly will play on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET, while no make-up date has been set for the other game.

Another event scheduled in D.C., the Capitals’ game with the Ducks, has been postponed by the NHL.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for D.C. that will remain in effect from 3 p.m. ET on Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday. Snow accumulation of up to two feet is expected, with winds at 25 to 35 miles per hour.

The storm also forced a handful of schedule changes in college basketball, including eight in the Atlantic 10 between men’s and women’s teams.
