The Golden State Warriors beat the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night to earn the best 52-game record in NBA history.

“It’s shocking, really,” head coach Steve Kerr said, according to the San Jose Mercury News. “Nobody’s ever done it, right?”

With the 112–104 win in Phoenix, the Warriors moved to 48–4, the best record any team has ever had heading into the All-Star break. Even the 1995–96 Chicago Bulls, who hold the NBA’s best single-season record at 72–10, were 47–5 after 52 games.

Stephen Curry led his team with 26 points and nine assists, while Klay Thompson adding 24 points. The Splash Brothers each made five three-point shots in the win as they extended their winning streak to 11 games.

“I don’t think anybody could have predicted this at the halfway point,” guard Shaun Livingston said of the team’s record, even in spite of their 24–0 start to the season.

The Warriors will play the Portland Trail Blazers in their return from the All-Star break on Feb. 19.
