Dwight Howard fires agent Dan Fegan
Friday February 26th, 2016

Rockets center Dwight Howard has fired his agent, Dan Fegan of Relativity Sports, he announced Friday.

“As I continue to embark on my NBA journey, I have decided to sever my relationship with Dan Fegan and Relativity Sports,” Howard said in a statement to USA Today’s Sam Amick. “I have the utmost respect for Dan, but this is the right decision for me. My sole focus remains owrking with my teammates to position the Rockets for a pursuit of a championship. I wish Dan and the team at Relativity all the best in the future.”

Howard, 30, is the third high-profile to leave Fegan in the past year, joining DeAndre Jordan and John Wall.

Howard has an opt-out in his contract that will allow him to become a free agent this off-season. He was rumored to be a trade possibility before the deadline, and his reported clashes with teammate James Harden have also dominated headlines.

Howard is averaging 14.6 points and 12 rebounds this season and has averaged double-doubles in each of his 12 NBA seasons since being drafted first overall in 2004.

The Rockets are 29–29 and hold the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference after Thursday’s win over the Trail Blazers.
