NBA breaks all-time attendance record for second straight year

The NBA has broken its all-time attendance record for the second straight year, the league announced Thursday.

In total, 21,972,129 fans attended NBA games during the 2015–16 regular-season, which surpassed last year’s record of 21,926,548.

The league also set a record for average game attendance at 17,864 fans, while posting the most sellouts in history at 723 and highest average arena capacity at 94%. For the 12th consecutive year, the NBA has had an average arena capacity of 90% or greater.
