NBA owners have approved uniform advertising, the league announced Friday.

The change, which will take place at the start of the 2017–18 season, will feature a patch on the front of game jerseys. The patch will measure 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches and will not appear on the retail versions of player jerseys. However, teams will be able to sell jerseys possessing sponsor patches in their own retail stores.

Each of the league’s 30 teams will be responsible for acquiring their own jersey sponsorships.

The 2016 NBA Playoffs begin Saturday.
