Maggie Gray welcomes Jon Weinbach to the Gray Area Podcast to talk about Patrick & Zo, a documentary Weinbach produced for SI Films on the relationship between Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning.
In this episode, Gray and Weinbach will take you behind the scenes of the film and the relationship between the two hall-of-fame centers. They discuss the strong bond between Ewing and Mourning, how Ewing helped recruit Mourning to Georgetown, Ewing offering to donate a kidney to Mourning during a health crisis, why Ewing still has not had an opportunity to be a head coach, how they feel about Allen Iverson and much more.
Later, they get into some of the 30 for 30 films that Weinbach created for ESPN. Gray asks Weinbach how Sonny Vaccaro might feel about James Harden’s $200 million deal with adidas and the Rams returning to Los Angeles.
