Kevin Durant: ‘Tim Duncan could play until he’s 90’

At times, it seems 40-year-old Spurs forward Tim Duncan will never retire. Thunder star Kevin Durant understands this, and thinks Duncan could hang around for 40 or 50 more years, if he’d like.
“Tim Duncan could play until he’s 90,” Durant said ahead of Saturday’s Game 1, according to Tom Osborn of the Express News. “It’s not about him scoring 20 and getting 10 rebounds, it’s just his presence.”

Duncan, an 18-year-veteran, has remained mum on retirement. He is entering the final year of a two-year deal he signed before the 2015–16 season. He turned 40 this week.
San Antonio defeated Oklahoma City 124–92 to take a 1–0 series lead. Duncan had eight points in 21 minutes while LaMarcus Aldridge led the Spurs with a game-high 38 points.
Durant and Russell Westbrook struggled as the Thunder shot 41% compared to San Antonio’s 61%. Game 2 is Monday at 9:30 ET.
