Denver Broncos wide receiver Bennie Fowler told ESPN’s Marc Spears on Wednesday that Warriors forward Draymond Green didn’t do anything wrong on the night he was arrested for allegedly punching Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson.

“On Saturday night, Draymond and I were eating in East Lansing,” Fowler said. “At no point, ever, did Draymond punch anyone. The claims against him are beyond false and I look forward to the truth coming out.”

Police confirmed on Wednesday that Green was arrested and charged with simple assault for the altercation, which occurred at Conrad’s Grill in East Lansing, Mich.

Green’s arraignment is scheduled for July 20, and if he is convicted, he could face up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Edmonson told police he plans to press charges against Green, who also attended Michigan State with Fowler.
