Twitter and the NBA have agreed upon a deal that will allow the social media company to stream two live original programs, the league announced Tuesday.

“We’re excited about bringing live content to Twitter,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement. “We’ve seen technology bring fans closer to our game, teams and players in ways we could have only imagined a decade ago."

The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

One of the NBA shows will be a weekly pregame show that may launch at the beginning of the season.

Should fans be part of the future of live sports broadcasts?

Twitter will still not be able to broadcast any games but it has previously been reported that the two sides have discussed the idea. The social media company has also been considering streaming Major League Soccer matches.

All content will be available for free on Twitter.
