Could Vince Carter enter a future Slam Dunk Contest? He seems to think so.

“It’s possible,” Carter recently told WeDontBluff.net, when asked if he could still compete in the event. “I don’t know if I’d win, but I think I’d make it interesting, to say the least.”

Carter, a 19-year-veteran, won the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest and has not been back to the event since. In the interview, he mentioned a few times that he enjoyed the time off during the All-Star break, so it doesn’t sound like he will be entering this season. In fact, it’s unclear whether or not he’d even want to enter a future event, but he thinks he has the hops for it.

This image tends to corroborate what the interviewer was saying about Carter’s vertical.

Carter also revealed he has been invited to judge the contest this year—and in 2007—but declined.
